“I want to write a novel about silence, he said; the things people don’t say.”

Virginia Woolf

Welcome to a blog of authenticity…

This blog is dedicated to breaking the stigma of mental health, thru art, truth and spirituality. It means speaking authentically about the challenges that mental health and addiction bring, but also the benefits that they bring. It means speaking of the ups and downs, the dirty and nitty gritty of ,not only the illnesses, but also of society. The writings cover experiences of mental health assessments, handfuls of medications, false diagnoses, psych ward visits, group therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions and endless amounts of stigma from society; it also covers how the world sees those challenges. This is not only the writer’s story, but countless of others as well.

Despite the challenges - there is hope, both for those who struggle and for how the world interacts with those who struggle.

  • The Abstract Jesus
First of all, let me be clear that I am deeply in love with Jesus, but I’m not in love with the conservative view of Jesus. I feel that the Jesus of the west can be demeaning, not inclusive and theological and historically wrong. Now, I’m not saying this from someone who hasn’t studied theContinue reading “The Abstract Jesus”
  • The Ripples
I’m addicted to water ripples. I see them and I feel so serene. I remember feeling that the water was the only thing thatContinue reading “The Ripples”
  • Procrastination at its Finest
I read an article recently about Bipolar and procrastination. That article renamed procrastination as whatever you do to procrastinate. For me, this looks like procrasti- painting, procrasti-nature, procrasti-sleeping, procrasti-thinking, procrasti-kayaking, procrasti-blogging, procrasti-vaping and much more. Instead of doing the important stuff, I lean towards the other items. I spend my main time painting abstract art,Continue reading “Procrastination at its Finest”

Who is the writer?

At this point in time, the writer’s identity will remain anonymous. Although they remain anonymous- the facts do not. See, they struggle with bipolar, addiction, trauma, and anxiety. They have been personally ridiculed and stigmatized for their challenges. But, despite the hurt, they are becoming educated; they are a hard worker for a non- profit that continually gives back and they have extensive goals. But, the first and foremost goal- is to simply survive each day.
